The fleet · Honda Click 160
Honda Click 160 rental
in Chiang Mai.
The city bike, and the cheapest thing we rent. Ours is black, with a phone holder already fitted.
The clever part of the Click 160 is that it carries the same 156.93 cc eSP+ engine as the ADV 160 in a body that weighs roughly 17 kg less. You get the same shove away from the lights at Nimman without the bulk, which is exactly what you want when you are filtering through afternoon traffic on the moat road or reversing into a gap outside a coffee shop.
It sits low and flat, so both feet reach the ground comfortably at 778 mm, and there are 18 litres of storage under the seat for a helmet or a day's shopping. The trade-off is a 5.5 litre tank rather than the ADV's 8.1, so expect to fill up more often on longer trips.
Who it suits
First-time riders, anyone based inside the Old City or Nimman, shorter riders, and anyone who mainly needs a bike for getting around rather than getting away. Ours is the ABS version, so the front wheel will not lock up on you the first time something stops dead in front of you on a wet road. If your plan involves the Mae Hong Son loop or regular two-up mountain runs, the ADV 160 is the better tool. For everything else the Click is easier to live with and ฿1,000 a month cheaper.
